I think they really need to remove the legacy talent that gives stealth detection. It's just an insane nerf to rogues and druids with nothing against other classes in the legacy system.

i think they need to put a number of the player recipes for crafting and attach them to pick pocketing bosses in dungeons. it gives rogues a significant amount of utility to dungeons groups outside of just dps. every other class in the group is likely doing some profession, make it so that when rogues pickpocket a dungeon boss you get a chance for it to drop a crafting recipe that is rolled on by the party. everyone will want a rogue in their dungeon group

Distract in PvP: when playing point capture battlegrounds, I would often intentionally draw attention to my presence even if I wasn't going to actually attack or capture. If I can force the opposing team to keep three people at my point, then that is three less people that they will have to capture other points. It means that I don't deal as much damage, but my team has an increased probability of a win. This change to distraction is another tool in that toolbox and I think it's pretty great.

I would like to see more done with poisons for rogue,  more fluid poison-swapping during pve fights could be cool for some more skill expression. Wound mid-fight against a healer, Crippling the second a mob tries to flee etc.

I am liking the Improved Expose Armor, but like some of the comments in the video already said: Without additional energy or combo point generation, there is just no way to actually include it. With Energy capped at 10 E/s, there's just so many combo points to generate, and the 28second Slice and Dice as well as the 21 second Venom already devour ALL of those ..
And this is especially heartbreaking because Improved Expose Armor actually GENERATES energy.. The cost of 25 energy is reduced by 10, but through relentless strikes, you still gain 25 energy.

As a rogue main... I feel ignored :( it feels like classic but worse cos everyone else has shiny new toys

9:20 it does make sense, from a lore perspective; An assassin is effective because they've studied humanoid anatomy (like humans, orcs... and giants) to know where and how to attack at vital organs. But beasts and dragonkin have a different anatomy than humanoids so they're not gonna be able to attack with as much precision.

One major problem with Rogues, and one I sadly do not see fixes for each set of patch notes, is that Sap appears to be broken.  As noted in the guide, Blizzard took the expansion change to where Sap no longer removes Stealth (essentially baking in the Improved Sap talent at 100% strength instead of 90%) and added that to Forever.  From what I have seen, yes, you do always remain in Stealth after using Sap; however, the problem is that it will SOMETIMES put you in combat with the mob that you sapped... and anyone that the mob is linked to.

I actually thought it was a 100% chance to put you into combat.  The first time I tried it was in the yeti cave in Dun Morogh, and out of the two times I used Sap, I was put into combat both times.  I then tried it again in Elwynn Forest (on the Gnolls near Hogger), and I was also put into combat there and attack by all other enemies in the group.   It wasn't until I talked to another Rogue and that person told me that they hadn't seen a problem that I decided to try it out again.  So, when I was at the Zoram Strand in Ashenvale, I decided to sap the majority of the Naga before killing them.  Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the count, but indeed, it did not always put me into combat; however, it definitely did...  I would guess at least 50% of the time.  I tried checking to see if it was a weird bug dealing with things like positioning, but it didn't seem to matter if I  was beside the mob or as close to directly behind it as I could get.  (I had Distract at this point, so I could try to line the mobs up.)

Maybe I'll take some time and document an attempt to sapping a bunch of mobs at some point.

If I randomly change directions I also know there's a rogue nearby, how is it any different now, besides having reduced stealth detection?

Distracting people off the dock when they get off the boat in Booty Bay is the most fun I've ever had in the game!

the only thing I would change is to make blade furry a toggle for consistent cleave. Just have it make you take a hit to your single target damage when it is up.

20:55 this is pretty funny.
First of all this is the name of the suicide drug in Children of Men. "Quietus. You choose when."
Secondly Quietus is also the name of some Ultramarine scout sergeant's Bolt Sniper rifle in WH40k iirc

Rogue main here, looking at how things stand currently I figured I’d list my concerns.

Assassination: The cap stone Venom is vastly underwhelming and focusing on maintaining two different buffs and white hits isn’t fun. The APM is around 15 which is the lowest in the game of any class/spec in the game and only 3 buttons, mutilate every 6 seconds hit slice, mutilate a few more times hit venom, Repeat. Poison charges are vastly too low, you’ll run out a quarter way through a boss fight and have to stop and reapply them every minute while you fall behind on maintaining your buffs. I would love to see poisons not have charges and just be on a 30 minute duration. Another change would be to bring in Dispatch from cataclysm to give the play style some much needed variance, allowing for a proc to break up the monotony of the rotation, while giving a change in tempo during execution phase. If nothing else just remove Venom and give us Envenom.

Combat: This tree was the most unchanged tree in the game, in vanilla it was very optimized and that has a lot to do with it. When we first got a look at this tree after it was announced, it looked good. The big change being restless blades, that was all the spec needed to be good and would allow more uses of your other big CD’s like Adrenaline Rush to keep the fights fun. After it got removed for a most unimpressive change in Flawless Execution, the spec just falls flat, feeling as if it had nothing changed but the use of axes and a convenience of all the weapons being tied into one talent. This spec just needs Restless Blades back or an energy gain off of crits and it will be fine.

Subtlety: This spec is crying for identity, The new capstone is based in a game with much more energy regen that allows for it to be good. As it stands now, this is only good when used with big CD’s like thistleTea, or Vanish/premed to make it anything more then use on capped energy and get 2-3 builders and the finisher in the 6 second window. This spec is trying to be PVE and PVP viable and failing at both. I would like this spec to just stay as a PVP build and be good at that, the play style makes it very difficult to allow for good PVE damage without being broken in PVP and this causes it to lack damage in PVE and be vastly Lacking in PVP. For this spec to be OKAY in both PVP and PVE it’s going to need a much bigger overhaul in its design.

I feel like nothing really changed. I just click ss and slice without 5 cp cause I can hardly keep it up

Quietus: death or something that causes it, regarded as a release of life, an Old World Slanf for Procreation. "Die a little death for me, Darling" was somehow attributed to "Let's get it on"
....Yeah, I don't get that last one, either...

They changed the backstab sound😭 why?

The new Sub capstone sounds really fun. Definitely want to try that spec.

As a rogue main, there's sprinkles of interesting stuff in the revised talent trees. However I'm not super impressed by the capstone talents, they just seem lackluster. This may change ofc, lets hope. Either way, I love rogue, and I'm still looking forward to play skyborne rogue come 4th of november!

sap is definitely a dirty trick, specially now it doesn't break stealth, so many people get sapped just before they get on a boat :P
