Correction - the Casio AP470 does not include Bluetooth Audio or MIDI. Apologies for any confusion.

I've owned and enjoyed the Yamaha YDP 145 for the past 3 years... Amazing hasn't let me down once.

Thanks mate - helped me make my mind up.
Incredible playing, by the way! Love the way you immediately know what to play depending on the sound!

I just bought the Yamaha clp-835, it's a different price class but I'm really happy with it, looks and sounds great 👍 🙂

I like the Yamaha more

The Casio has the option to lift the rear cover in a sort of grand piano lid simulation. This enhances the sound and presence immensely, bringing more treble and clarity. It was sadly not presented in the video, but it would have made the sound comparison a much closer call.

Good timing - my son is learning piano and the tiny Casio he started on does not have enough octaves! Need a full-size one - may go with Casio again as very impressed with features - I will take the little keyboard and use it as a controller on my PC.

You didn't end up saying which action feels heavier between the two.

I don't why I can't escape Yamaha. Everything I need Yamaha just makes the best products.

I had before Yamaha clavinova but it got too old and many keys went broken. Then I bought used but like new Casio celviano 470 and its not have the same piano sound then yamahas have. But I got it mainly for other sounds and features because I already have good acoustic piano. Next digital piano would be Yamaha for sure.

Today i played Roland RP107 and Casio AP270. Both are 16 watt combined speakers but casio AP270 sounded so low compared to roland at max volume.

Will casio AP 470 which has 40W speakers also have low volume?

@AndyA1234 1 year ago

The Yamaha sounds more like an acoustic grand. Buy which one feels the best to play.

As much as I love Casio as a brand, Yamaha wins this one for me, more authentic piano sound

CASIO sound good with the Piano sounds, but they don't sound like you want to have 'em sound when siting in front of a piano and lay it. casio sounds more roomie and indirec to me.
YAMAHA instead sounds amazing, and I am not a fanboy. I'm a convinced nord player!
