The more I know about the personal lives of the rich and famous, the more thankful I am for my ordinary life.

I was working at a radio station in Exeter, New Hampshire -- WERZ/WMYF.
We were all a flutter, when rumor had it that Miss Simon was going to stop by, after visiting her son at Phillips Exeter Academy.
This she did.
Several weeks before her visit, I had been chatting on the phone with my brother George, who was living in L.A. at the time. We were talking about music, and I had mentioned Carly's new album had just arrived at the studio. My brother told me that he had heard a cut from it, but that he couldn't distinguish the lyrics very well in the loud, busy retail store in which he was working...
"Yeah" he said, puzzled. "Something about... Stuff the green tomato. Or something?"
I kept musing to myself, "stuff the green tomato"??
It finally occurred to me that he was alluding to the song, "The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of".
When Miss Simon finally entered the station,  I just had to tell her the story of my brother's misheard lyric.  And I had had a copy of her (vinyl) album ready for her to sign for him.
With her wonderful sense of humor, how did she sign the album cover?
'Dear George... I'm still stuffing those green tomatoes. Love, Carly.'
One of the highlights of my life.

Her song 'Coming Around Again: is one of my favorites.

One of my neighbors in college was their nanny for a couple of summers. She loved the job.

Back in the late 70s working for an airline out of Boston that had Martha’s Vineyard as one of its destinations.  I interacted with both of them whether at the ticket counter or boarding area. At the time he was a functional heroin addict.  The dozen or so times I interacted with him, long rain coat, hat, sunglasses.  He’d hand over his American Express, and mumble maybe 2 words.  Back then we hand wrote tickets, and ran the card through the imprint device. Carly was always pleasant, big smile, didn’t realize how beautiful she was, and always said thank you, and added .. hope your day is pleasant.  These were always separate instances, they were married, but if I’m not mistaken they had separate living arrangements, and eventually he said it’s her island.

Love Carly Simon and her Music. i had no idea all 4 of her siblings died of Cancer. That is enough to take anyone out of life and not recover. I always thought she was an exotic beauty and so talented. ❤

Strikingly talented and uniquely beautiful.

Did Carly receive a telephone WARNING her of James heroin addiction?

One of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. As good as any other musical legend in history.

Just wondering how James Taylor knew it was a strange number since caller ID
did not come out until the 90's some 15 or so years later and there was no digital
number display on ANY residential phone. Really.

I have always loved Carly Simon's music.

I have Always LOVED Carly Simon's voice & music! As a gigging singer myself, I have spent MANY hours being entranced by the aura of Carly.
Carly will ALWAYS be an Icon for generations to come, and that is a testimony to her Incredible musical Genius!!!!

You're so Vain & Coming Around Again are also 2 of my favorite songs ever.  A real talent.  I hope you read this and know how admired you are, Carly.

Wow, talk about heartbreak. I applaud her for getting through the pain and suffering she occurred. As a kid you think, pretty girl, critically acclaimed and very popular music, she's living her best life. Another example of never judging a book by its cover. I'm so glad she came out the other side. That took all the intestinal fortitude she could muster.

her songs and voice and looks is top notch.
love her songs. so talented.

1985~ after one year of Ohio university I “rescued a dog” while I was still in my dormitory
It’s a long story I had to keep the dog secret for about four days and then I was praying that my dad pick me up because I knew I could take the dog with my father cause we all were living together but my whole point is I named my dog Carly after Carly Simon ❤🎉

Warren Beatty sounds creepy from the start.

I grew up with both of their music and love it to this day.

Love Mick Jaggers vocals in You’re So Vain.  Warren Beatty and his sister Shirley MacLean have relatives in Nova Scotia.  That is why part of the song talks about the vain one flying to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse of the Sun.  Beatty likely did that; a clue in the song.
Tragic all of that cancer affecting people in Carly’s life.  You’re so Vain is a great song!!

Great video. Thanks a million for not adding any background music. Much appreciated!
