Those welds on that beauty ring and smoke stack would drive me crazy!!

Totally agree with initial commenter here! Well done. Great independent overview of what is likely to be expected upon arrival - the good and the idiosyncrasies. I would certainly look forward to seeing future videos of fire management and a few cooks!

Thanks for sharing!

Great smoker, love it!

Great video please keep making more videos on this pit

that extra bolt was probably for the door handle latch to the fire box, lol

Looks like you got a great smoker.  👍

I think this shipped before the final inspection.  Glad it was just small issues though.

I definitely see a lot of smalls things here that could be fixed before shipping, but people also gotta realize this smoker is the whole idea of give and take. 1/4 steel backyard offset for a lower price range, if you want everything perfect and high quality go buy the 4,000$+ pits or build your own.

Fantastic smoker. I have one. By the way.. the firebox door is a little loose bc it’s just like the franklin smoker that allows the henges to move a little for expansion under massive heat.

Do a video of using it

A very nice pit curious what size holes they running in that baffle

Seems like a lot of people are missing the point of this smoker, and dont understand fabrication costs, shipping, size of the chamber/firebox, extras, thickness of metal, all add up... this is an incredible smoker at this price point.

I am ready to order a new offset and am comparing 3.
1-The Solution XL
2- workhorse Pits 1975
3- Texas SmokeKing

Is / are there a video (s) that describes and explains the builds and what makes each unique? IE deflection, hot spots, full dimensions of fire box etc(can I use 24” splits or do I need to cut my wood shorter)
Etc,etc
Thanks

I am very unimpressed with the fit and finish of a $4000 this bbq? I have an expensive offset from another manufacturer. There was zero adjustment with mine.

I was considering buying one of these, but it seems they are no longer available.  I can't find any information regarding it's disappearance from the market.

Could you tell me what percentage or fraction of the firebox opening remains open above the baffle? I want to add a similar type baffle to my offset. Thank You so much.

Really disappointed to see the build quality and leaving stuff for the customer to fix. Doesn't do any favour to the name " Mad Scientist bbq".

I do not see them on the Mad Scientist BBQ website. Have they been discontinued already?

How many of the nay sayers on this will buy new material and build one that's better?
It's not a pressure vessel that has to meet AWS standards.
