This guy is great. Really wants to help people and make things clear.

Cracking content Alan and very useful for gas engineers coming and who can’t afford a power flush 👍👍👍

Allen you really helping out plumbers with your videos mate .I really appreciate your effort .Thanks a lot

Excellent video.... I agree time is against you when flushing /boiler fitting ..

I always visit the job a week before to add chemicals an let them use heating as Normal.. go back the day before and give the system an bloody good flushing, mains flushing back and forward until water is is clear.. reconnect up to existing boiler
Return next day and swap boiler an works .. then give a final hot flush an then add inhibitor ... hope that’s enough to be suffice for benchmark

Even though you live near France I've been watching your videos.

If the existing boilers functional.  I prefer to do a hot flush balance the filling loop with the drain off and keep the boiler running on full.  If I can tap into the flow then I will.  In most cases I'll always reccomend a magnaclense if the system water looks particularly dirty.  The powerflush comes out as a last resort. Or if the customer requests.  I'm pretty sure adey with replace your rad agitator if you send them a pic of your broken one.  That piece comes with a lifetime warranty.  Brilliant work Allen, appreciate your hard efforts. 👍

GREAT video Allen, once again.
Very informative.

REALLY appreciate all your hard work in doing these videos.

Thank you.

VERY NICELY DONE. IT WAS GREAT THAT HE USED DRAWING ON THE WHITE BOARD TO SHOW AND TO EXPLAIN THE WORKING OF THE BOILER, WHICH I'D SAY REALLY COMPREHENSIVE. I DON'T REALLY GIVE THUMBS UP OR DOWN OR EVEN MAKE ANY COMMENTS BUT I JUST COULDN'T RESIST FROM DOING SO COS IT WAS EXCELLENTLY AND VERY CLEARLY EXPLAINED.L, SO CHEERS MATE ,KEEP THESE SORT OF VID'S FORTHCOMING.

Allen, many thanks for your efforts. Very useful video.

I always do a cold flush but never used a power flush machine, would be great if you could do a video doing a demo with a power flush machine. Don’t know which one to buy so would probably buy the one you demo 👍🏻 Also you’re never babbling mate don’t worry you’re helping a lot of lads out. Take care 👍🏻

I had the idea of using an orbital sander, without the sandpaper of course, to vibrate the crap from the bottom of radiators.

Great Video Allen , really good information

Great video as always, but you have missed out something which non professionals might not know: to do a flush, any motorized valves controlling the heating, and cylinder if this needs a flush, must be open, otherwise the water won't circulate. I made this mistake on my system, which uses motorized valves on flow and return: when the electricity is powered off, the valves default to closed position.

I'm not a plumber, but using the cold input to flush via the return makes perfect sense.

Marvellous video! I’m not a plumber but you explain things so well I have completed a flush of my heating system and all went to plan.  👍

Hi Alan. Just found your videos. Absolutely spot on.  No real plumbing training but will have a go at any diy.  Took out a complete hot water cylinder tank and pipes following your video in prep for a combo. Thanks

Hi Allen, very clear and informative video. I have replaced, in 2024, a 40-year-old open-vent system with an unvented MegoFlow system with a Worcester boiler, all in the garage. Has a Center cylinder and filter. The boiler engineer did not flush the system, as it 8 mm microbore system. I have recently repositioned some radiators and replaced all old rads with new rads and valves. Some rads were removed and flushed in the garden. Also flushed the individual lines to the removed and new rads. I want to add X800 chemical and then drain. I can not find any drain valve in the garage apart from two near the bottom of the cylinder. Where do I drain the system from to get the best results? I understand I should not use these two drains at the bottom of the cylinder leading to the cylinder. Please help. Thanks

Fours years in Ans so obvious yet overlooked. Thanks mate !!

Thanks for the work you're doing to help people.

Thankyou. Very well explained. Some tips I learned of you.
