We climbed Mount Bisoke in Rwanda, an active volcano rising to 3,711 metres above sea level. But the real surprise came when we came face-to-face with wild mountain gorillas, without paying the $1,500 gorilla trekking permit.

Mount Bisoke is one of the volcanoes inside Rwanda's famous Volcanoes National Park, home to some of the world's last remaining mountain gorillas. Located in the Virunga Mountains near the borders of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, this is one of the most spectacular and biodiverse areas in Rwanda.

In this Rwanda travel vlog, we take on a challenging 5-hour hike through high-altitude rainforest, slippery volcanic terrain, bamboo forests, mud, fog and steep slopes as we make our way towards the summit of Mount Bisoke.
