I was diagnosed at 18 years of age. I am 64 now. Tagamet was the go to with gaviscon. Wearing loose clothes stayed away from strong scents. Eating light meals. But over the years it became so bad i bought an adjustable bed, couldn’t eat for 3 hours or would puke in bed. In fact, heartburn got so bad, the gastroenterologist did a scope. He checked for barretts. He said i didn’t have it but had some erosion. That was 6-7 years ago. He just said it was large. He put me on 40 mg of nexium. I took it for a while but it didn’t stop heartburn. The dr.’s didn’t suggest surgery because it doesn’t always work they said. So I saw Dr.Barry on tv talking about carnivore and ketovore helped gerd. I was desperate and tried it 2 years ago. I didn’t realize everything i ate was carbs. I got worried when i had to stay at a hotel for a week for work. I DID NOT GET SICK! In fact losing weight helped a lot and now i can eat and lay down. Don’t have to have puke bags in bed now! Still take pepcid complete twice a day and watch what i eat and drink.

This may be the best video I’ve seen on hiatal hernias. I have a 5 cm HH, and while I’ve gotten two opinions—one saying I should have surgery and the other saying I shouldn’t—my only issue is that I have slightly delayed gastric emptying, which makes them nervous about doing a fundoplication. They’re recommending a gastropexy instead. I’d love to learn more about it, including the pros and cons. New subscriber—love the content!

Thank you. Im an EMT-A & the job is so physical, lifting & sliding patients. I have a hiatal hernia. After so many tests it was diagnosed. Your clinic is about an hour and a half from me, I need to make an appointment. I had no idea all these symptoms were related to the hernia. SOB, acid reflux, N/V, & distended abdomen

I was diagnosed with gerd, this past 3 or 4 weeks ago. I'm on ppi i have an appointment on the 29th of this month to see a GI to see why im still having chest pain the acid reflux has stopped with the pills. Im very scared of this it just hit me out of nowhere

That's what I had repaired in 2021. The pain when part of my stomach went up into my chest and I would eat, oh my _+(6_'. It was worse than having a baby.

I have the sliding hernia and I have so many symptoms that's not just acid reflux. I have the worst pain ever at times and get belching and a cough and can't eat much at once. Definitely not just reflux
