Million dollar idea, fortune cookies written by Splatt. "Don't hug a cactus when you're cheeks to the wind."

I pick characters that don't look like me to make a clear distinction between myself and my character. Mostly because this is a fantasy and I want to explore things that are not me. I play me every time I wake up.

there is an option to save when you sleep

That's a Dark Sun beginning if I've ever seen one.

This game looks fantastic

This looks low key and cool. It seems to convey the difficulty of surviving in a wasteland well.

"looks like we got a weak mind" relatable

its more immersive to me to make characters that look similar to me pretty simple.

Yes Splat, it was studied. It is called the Protheus effect and there has been multiple studies with gamers and Table top rpg players. :D

Looks like a solid start!
I know it's a wasteland, but I'd like to see more stuff pop up in the desert. Even maybe mirages that you have to identify to clear away, potentially with flavour text / lore.

I'm totally ok with the shooting being jank starting out. Makes perfect lore sense. Definitely agree that the enemies seem a little too tough early on and very uncool that you are stat blocked from doing a contract. Maybe it is supposed to be higher level. Definitely needs some QOL stuff for places you've searched already.
