All songs in this Alexander Theatre session are pure art!

This acoustic series is the best thing that came out of covid times. They were able to go and record these in the awesome old theater with incredible acoustics, making everything sound just fantastic.

It is the most beautiful and saddest song I have ever heard. It is a song about loss and the grief and resignation that follow. The image of the hummingbird serves as a metaphor for the soul of a loved one departing forever, transforming into specks of light that take on the appearance of an angel.
I wonder if the meaning echoes songs of theirs like "Dreaming Wide Awake"—where a man is forced to leave his partner to die in the snow to save himself, wandering amidst remorse and visions—or "Dancing on a Broken Glass," in which a couple spends their final date as cheerfully and lightheartedly as possible, given that she is terminally ill with cancer.
POETS possess an extraordinary sensitivity to this subject, pouring it into their lyrics and music.

Both songs have videoclip

Poets Of The Fall: Artists, of what I would say is The biggest of arts; Music.
Fine 'reaction'.
Thank you very much!

They are epic in live and they have a tour in Europe right now.

Grief is the price we pay for love.
Marko's rich and velvety baritone vocals and beautifully written lyrics really pull your heartstrings.
So next POTF song?! '
Temple Of Thought' (unplugged studio live.)

Wonderful reaction to this amazing musik. Saaresto's voice is fenomenal. Thank you. Kippis from a finn in sweden.❤🎉

Please check "Rebirth" from the Alexander Theater sessions. It's so beautiful.

Oh my❤ I didn't know this song before I love it! So intimate, gentle, beautiful and poetic!

This song is an amazing take on the feelings when you loose a loved one. The stillness, the sadness and the thankfullness.

If you want to hear something in similar theme and equally amazing, I suggest some of the newest Nightwish - "Lanternlight". Its a song Tuomas wrote after losing his father, but it is very poetic and open as NW usually is.

Poets of the Fall reactions are far too rare, so nice to find new ones. I just saw them live for the first time last week, despite knowing them for over 20 years. It was glorious.
The Alexander Theatre Sessions are fantastic throughout. My favourite from that session is probably Rebirth. There are so many great songs by PotF, but amongst my favourites would be Late Goodbye, Lift, Roses, Cradled in Love, Locking Up the Sun, War, Choice Millionaire and Dreaming Wide Awake. Probably forgetting some in the spur of moment, but there really is no wrong choice. As you said, the name rings true, they are proper poets.

Poets of the fall "Rebirth " from same Alexander theatre session✨️

One female friend of mine said his voice makes her "lady bits tingling in a romantic way". And I get it it. He has a great voice and charisma

They are a severely underrated band. Every song has a message which can be interpreted in a million meaningful ways.
I recommend Requiem for My Harlequin for it's deep meaning, and Where Do We Draw The Line for being similar to Angel (piano, beautiful melody and sad emotions).

Fell in love with Poets of the Fall some 23 years ago, as they released few songs to the video game developers at Remedy company. It was love at the first tune. The rest is history. They have also released music under the name of "The Old Gods of Asgard", mainly focusing on video game music. Nevertheless, just as masterclass music as what POTF do. I am so happy that you finally found this gem. This is something so phenomenal to suit your taste of music and emotions. Lots of love from Finland. Loving your channel!

I love all the songs from Alexander Theather Sessions but my favorites are King Of Fools (ep 1), The Sweet  Escape (ep 3), Lift (ep 8), Children Of The Sun (ep 10), Rebirth (ep 11) and Carnival Of Rust (ep 12) ❤ Almost listed all of them 😆

I heard POTF for the first time in 2005 when my classmate introduced the album Signs of life for me but fell in love of them in 2006 when the Carnival Of the Rust released and i've been a fan for 20 years now!

Also song Sleep is beautiful, i hummed that song for my kids when they were babies and the newest song Black Waters
❤

But all their songs are good, there’s a track for every stage of life, and they find you just when you need them
❤

Welcome to the POTF rabbithole, you gonna love it!!!

absolute perfection aren't they? As someone else here commented, all their sessions in the theatre are worth a listen! One of my personal favourites being ep 8 lift. Another one worth a listen is there song called temple of thought (unplugged studio live). chefs kiss!

Thank you

Kiitos from Finland.

Poets of the Fall has so many amazing songs!

Maybe you are also interested  to hear original singer (and one of the founding member) of Nightwish?

Tarja’s vocals and style represented the original atmosphere Tuomas wanted to convey. Naturally, many people encounter Floor’s version first, as she is the band’s current vocalist. And since most fans who discovered Nightwish in the "internet/YouTube era" hear her singing first, they naturally regard it as the "one and only" version! In doing so, they overlook the band’s long history - and the fact that Tarja was instrumental in creating the Nightwish style and an entirely new musical genre. That is no small feat! I wish the band’s history - including the evolution of its music and lineup - is better appreciated! Let’s enjoy Nightwish and the musical output of all its eras to the fullest!

Some best Nightwish's songs "From Wishes to Eternity" (2000) concert: "The Kinslayer", "The Pharaoh Sails to Orion", "Swanheart", "Walking in the Air" and "Beauty & the Beast". This "End Of An Era" (2005) concert is so amazing! Just pick any song and you'll enjoy it! Especially: "Phantom Of The Oper", "Ghost Love Score", "Nemo", "The Siren", "Slaying The Dreamer", "Ever Dream", "Sleeping Sun" and "Dark Chest Of Wonders". Nightwish second singer was Anette Olzon (2007-2012) with pop style singing and now female singer is Floor Jansen (2013-), her voice is between those previous singers. Each singer has their own style and the songs (of course) are composed for their singing style and worth listening. Tuomas Holopainen is the band's composer and lyricist for the most part.

Tarja's (her own career) many wonderful songs/concerts need to be watched/heared! Tarja is a powerful amazing singer with emotion! You will hear it (also her chest voice) nowadays better. Few best to hear: "In For A Kill" and "I Walk Alone" (Rosario 2012), "Victim Of Ritual" and "Supremacy" (Woodstock 2016), Undertaker (Milan 2016), "Numb" and "Ohne Dich" (Wacken church 2016), "Shadow Play" , "Innocence" and "I Feel Immortal" (Bucharest 2020). Her singing styles now are much diverse than before. Just a time ago she released new metal album (Frisson Noir). There are already music videos from the songs "At Sea", "I Don't Care" and "The Trace Outlives". And maybe some day her "Dark Chrismas" songs (O Holy Night, O Come O Come Emmanuel etc)...

Enjoy the music/feeling! Thank you very much! 🤘❤‍🔥🤘❤‍🔥🤘
