Your struggle to pronounce "depths" is very akin to my struggles to pronounce ANYTHING in Slavic languages

You even bothering to go through SO MANY of the lore entries brings me back to a time where I would readily read a game manual on the way home from the game store; the best part being the buildup of excitement knowing everything I can about the world I’m about to enter, thanks to the devs themselves and the little bits of extra lore details they included in their manuals. I WISH I could recapture that excitement as an adult and this is the first time I’ve come close since so many creators just give brief explanations rather than going through things detail by detail.

Excellent work, needless to say.

Legendary 3am algorithm pull.

I reckon Healer put the Condemned sign on his own house at the end. He's got stuff to do and it'd be hard to explain him and Kitty, and Condemned gives a different vibe than 'Keep Out.' Condemned is 'you'll get tetanus in here,' Keep Out is 'I'm a crazy redneck and believe in sovereign citizenship.' Given that the military will be busy for a while with actual Growth cleanup, they'll probably overlook some shitty trailer park house and let him figure out whatever he's trying to do with the Growth sample.

I think that healer is probably a nod to the overall themes of the game which include flesh and surgery. The healer is like a surgeon with a scalpel (the bone blade) who makes incisions to save people. In this context, Healer is more analogous to a person who saves rather than simply being a person who heals.
Probably a stretch, but idk.

I think primagen was a typo. A primogen would be a firstborn who inherited their parents' wealth and whatever else. Normally the word is primogeniture, which is the practice of the firstborn inheriting everything.

Ok, so quick sidenote: I think Kitty, despite everything does tell us something. The implication that it was found nearby its "mother" means the growth does not merely assimilate to its own ends, but can create self sustaining or at least self replicating organisms. Kitty in essence may also be a type of eldritch parasite upon the growth itself, though thats more of a reach. Would explain however both why the mechanical nature is missing and why its mother may have been killed.

It feels like Turbo Overkill and Incision are somewhat interconnected...

My issue with doom eternal's story is that it felt like there was noone left to save in it. I found the state of earth to be extremely detracting from doomguys wish to save everyone. Especially because you dont get verification of actual humans until like halfway through the game, it just felt like a pointless endevour.

While i agree that its odd that the city hasnt been nuked in the game yet, ruining the entire earth would mean fighting for humanity is pointless, detracting from your charachter's motivation to save others. Why even kill the throne, if all youd be left with is an even more dead world?

i love killing eldritch gods with buckshot :D

I think the answer to the reason the Death-Rot Child went to the throne room lies in its design. Its limbs and torso are small and deformed, its head bulbous and too big for its body. It was a child, hurt and scared, and its only instinct was to run to its mother.

Wow, I never knew that the protagonist lived through the face stabbing. that is brutal

A thought I had while watching this when it came out:
I think the implication of the timeline fuckery involving humans or human-like lifeforms is meant to imply that the Grafting Throne is part of some kind of Battlestar Galactica-style eternal cycle, where the Throne is used to create lifeforms that then supplant its current wielders, only to create other lifeforms that then supplant them; it's meant to cycle through an unknown number of these species forever, meaning that at some point there was a past cosmic generation of humans that wielded the Throne before dying out and being supplanted as they had been many times before. The difference in this cycle was the fear and greed of the Malichant, who exploited the Throne's capabilities in an unsustainable fashion in an effort to extend their own lives and stave off their fated extinction.

Regarding the ancient ones description, I think what it meant is that all humanoid species - humans, squid-fools etc., came from the same origin, perhaps the primordial humanoid of some kind, from which all other humanoid species derived. Would make more sense than "all these unrelated aliens have 2 arms and 2 legs cuz yes" anyway.

I love how the minigun measures ammo in yards

you deserve way more subs for this, so glad to see someone talking so in-depth about this incredibly underrated game!!

1:04:00 at the end it is implied that the military was aware of what was going on (at least to a degree) and was covering it up, after all, the protagonist is the last survivor of the team the military sent to investigate the throne, so they were aware of something unnatural going on. I can only speculate as to why the military hadn't nuked the city, perhaps because the situation hadn't spilled outside the city yet they were still trying to retake it conventionally, and as we see in the newspapers at the end, nuking the city would leave a lot of angry people asking why a city was nuked for seemingly no reason.

The Strogg (Quake) and the Borg (Star Trek) decided to go say hello to the Many (System Shock). I like

Not even closer to that one "Full lore of Black Souls 2" which is 10 hours long

2:24:49 it's a shoutout to the youtuber BrutalZlim who went by the name Zlimbratsky at the time of the games' release
