Open the dictionary and search for 'Qawwali Tabla', and all you need in the definition is Ustad Ji's picture! He is the genre; he defines it. Having spent 30+ years as the great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's tabla maestro, what he doesn't know about Qawwali is simply not worth knowing. I was truly privileged and honoured along with my dear brother Kash who represents the next generation of Qawwali tabla maestro's to spend a day with this legend. We talked, we laughed and of course tabla was played!
