real and true

As a teenager with ADHD nu metal ticked all the boxes for me, you nailed the end about suiting people who didn't fit in to sub cultures. Great vid thanks

Nu metal was the last time hard rock was mainstream

You either like Nu metal, or you were told to hate it.

Nu-metal saved heavy metal, in my opinion. The media and radio stations in the 90's wanted metal to die. Metallica going soft on their Load and Re-Load albums didn't help. Nu-metal brought something fresh to enjoy and help to renew interest and it became a bridge to the later styles in metal in the 2000's.

Most of my favorite songs, and music taste, come from nu metal. I agree that nu metal isn’t, just, only rap metal. I always saw nu metal as a cousin to grunge.

There's a reason why so many people, including musicians, state that Nu Metal was their gateway into metal or even into rock in general. I was a hardcore hip-hop head in the mid 90s and it took bands like Korn, Linkin Park, Deftones and yes even Limp Bizkit to get me into hard rock.

Being a metalhead of all genres it gets annoying hearing most people treat nu metal as something outside the genre,  especially when it was one of the main reasons I came to love metal and it's subgenres. I could sit here and stroke your ego

and that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Good job Mads ❤️

Nu Metal was my youth and i still like it. Thank god I grew up in the 90s early 2000s

There were so many avenues to Nu metal. I was a grunge/hip-hop kid. My mate was a heavy metal kid. We both naturally found sepultura, Manson, and coal chamber. All paths led to nu metal.

Nu-metal just resonates with people who's been through some rough shit growing up. It's the voice of held back frustration with the world we live in

Linkin Park, Korn, Kittie, Slipknot, all these bands are so special in completely different ways to me and will always fuel my angst 🖤

Nu metal is one of the only metal genres that I don't get bored with listening to.

I could only WISH there was anything as FUN as NuMetal was these days....

I love how Nu Metal reaches out to different genres and introduces people to things they wouldn't normally like.

Nu metal gets treated the same way 80s hair metal got treated during the nu metal era.

I never thought of NuMetal as cheesy. I like the rhythm and honestly can do without the guitar solo which can make or break a song.

The fact that Linkin Park barely got a mention is odd.  They eclipsed pretty much every other band mentioned in your video (exceptions perhaps being Slipknot and Korn) while carving out a dark, heavy yet endlessly catchy sound, thus simultaneously hooking new fans into the genre.

Really apreciated the walk down memory lane though.  Great video.

I was 14 when the first Slipknot album came out and it is hard to overstate how mindblowing that record was compared to everything else at the time.  It was just facemelting in ways I didn't know was possible.

Love Nu Metal. Loved it and Pop Punk in middle school which led to me getting into post hardcore and metal/deathcore in high school. KoRn, Slipknot, and Deftones all have released great albums within the last three years. Hell even the new Limp Bizkit album was pretty fun too. Great video as always King 👑
