I would never have guessed that running clubs were in Dubai!  Happy for you. :)  Regardless of whether you choose to live there a  year or two or longer, adventure is out there!  Some of us love variety, change, and different cultures. :)

When you first announced you were moving to Dubai, I thought: isn't that too warm for running though? Of course, these days hot temperatures are not uncommon in Western Europe anymore either. Here in the Netherlands we've just had a heat wave (and in the coming two weeks, only 2 days forecast with temperatures less than 25), with record high temperatures for June - along with a spate of running event cancellations.

I would miss an active racing scene though; as much as I enjoy just running,  having goal races to work towards is very motivating for me. I don't want to put words into your mouth, but I surmise that has been missing a little from your running this year too.

Chloe, thanks for sharing your experience about Dubai. Was a bit surprised about air pollution and water quality. For water you may try filters, you know like Brita, it is a good alternative to bottled water. Good luck to you two 😊

Interesting to hear your take on Dubai. The weather sounds awesome, I would enjoy that part! And the safety. I wonder about the environmental impact. The all air con, skiing indoors, cars in the desert, all this must come with a huge carbon footprint.
