Ricky Gervais whole schtick nowadays feels like him saying something, then bemoaning people can't say that thing while nobody stops him from saying it.
if they just had all the actors sit around in tshirts with stripes and whisker facepaint, they could probably save some money rather than pay a bunch of animators to animate NOTHING
You can thank Stephen Merchant for all the early Gervais projects being good, he's always been the significantly better writer and funnier person. The Outlaws is pretty good.
Cats really love moving around in an easy-to-animate block of 6+ characters from scene to scene. Famously that's what cats do. Ricky Gervais famously loves animals and so that's why he saw the humour in that fact about cat behaviour.
