We weren't prepared for just how difficult this hospital stay was going to become. ❤️
We return to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) with Teddy for another important stage of his follow-up care after childhood cancer — including testing for central diabetes insipidus (CDI), an MRI scan and lumbar puncture.
We knew it was going to be an emotional few days, but one of the hardest parts ended up being something we hadn't expected at all.
Teddy needed a cannula fitted for his tests, but after four unsuccessful attempts, we eventually reached 11:30pm without working access. After an incredibly long and exhausting day, Teddy had to be woken from his sleep so the anaesthetic team could make a fifth attempt.
Thankfully, attempt number five finally worked. ❤️
As parents, watching your child go through procedure after procedure while being unable to take it away from them is incredibly difficult. Teddy has already been through more medically than most people will experience in a lifetime, yet somehow he continues to amaze us with how he deals with it all.
This video follows the reality of our hospital stay — from arriving at GOSH and beginning Teddy's tests, through the difficult cannula attempts and preparing for his MRI and lumbar puncture.
And throughout all of this, we're still waiting for the answers that brought us back to hospital in the first place.
Those results come in the next episode.
For anyone new to our channel, Teddy was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia) at just 9 months old. After months of treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital and a bone marrow transplant, we've continued sharing our family's life after childhood cancer — the incredible moments, the difficult ones, and everything in between.
Thank you, as always, for following Teddy's journey and supporting our family. It genuinely means so much to us. ❤️
If you're new here, we'd love you to subscribe to Life With The Bridges and join us as we continue sharing our family life, Teddy's journey after childhood cancer, and the next chapter of our lives.
NEXT EPISODE: Teddy's results from his MRI, lumbar puncture and hospital investigations.
