In the 1920s, there was a Majili area for devotees going to Srisailam via the southeast route of Chintala. In those days, there were three annadan hostels in Chintala, for Brahmins, Shudras and Vaishyas. Although the traces of the hostels of that time are not known, there is a place in the forest to the west of Chintala called Chenchulu Pullamma hostel. If you go there, you will see a ruined Shiva temple across the stream and a fresh water well. In Siddhi, an inscription plate has fallen next to the Shiva temple and when you look at the contents, the word Kotaru Pullamma is clearly visible. This Pullamma hostel may also have been one of the three hostels that existed in the past.
