"I can't wait to start my day, I have a lovely wife and kids, our relatives live near by, we're in a safe area and our lord treats us decently! Life is good."-Joe the bretonian peasant moments before the wild hunt arives at his village.

I feel like I’m the only guy who likes this faction

One, I can tell this was recorded before Chaos Dwarves got announced for AoS. Two: That was a messy history for those poor elves, almost makes me glad the Exodites aren't more explored. Almost.

Feed Andy to the forest for the puns

In the words a of a very wise, very drunk dwarf "Hey, look at me, I'm an elf! Trees are pretty! Tra la la."

1:27:30 literally the knight in the back was bringed into the forest, befriended cernnunos, killed a tree demon, got a magical lance from the oak and was dropped in the middle of the battlr he wanted to fight against a vampire lord just after drinking from the grail lol

If we get another Fantasy Fireside soon I would love to get a Thanquol video

Fun fact: cernunnos is the Celtic god of the forest and is the inspiration for the wood elves having their whole demi god king stick (haha I'm funny) going on. He would often punish those who took too much from his home (the forests) if they were to hunt too many animals greedily for themselves. As an extra bonus, the elf sea god that the water elves from age of Sigmar worship is based off manann Mac lir, sea god and maker of cool weapons. He also gave lugh (the sun god) a cool water horse and is the king of the Celtic underworld which was connected to the ocean depths. A final extra tidbit is Morgan le fay from Arthurian legend (which their neighbours take HEAVY inspiration from as Colin knows very well) is based off the goddess the morrigan, the Celtic avatar of fate and killer of lughs son Cuchulain after he inadvertently rejected her. Also yes there's tons more Fae inspiration in there obviously and all the other elf/eldar gods 100% get it from the tuathe de danann in some way shape or form.

Yes I love mythology too much and this was admittedly kinda an excuse to speak a passion of mine.

they've had wood elves in every episode, they are the timbur being burned for the campfire

When the trees start speaking elvenese even a catchan boy sweats

The wood elves are an interesting faction in asmuch we actually get to see a second center and type of culture for it in WFRP, the elves of the Laurelorn Forest whose forest lies within the Empire.
Still a bunch of elves living in a weird old one experiment magical forest. Their culture is even older than the Asrai (athel loren) and they're relatively more tolerant of humans. Enough to at least negotiate with them.
If there's an elf in the empire, they're normally from here, not athel loren.

Its a cool place, though maybe not quite as crazy as athel loren, whats with its god avatars and crazier environments

Great choice, but y'know who else you should cover? They rhyme with Mesh Beater Forts.

1:21:28 this explains Kerillians dialect so much now, before I thought she was just candid and mean, but adding this detail it emphasizes what she says, cause there are moments of genuine love and kindness from her and also moments of of brutality, if it’s do do with the effects of seasons and days upon her and her dialogue, that’s cool

I would actually like to have a fantasy fireside on Vermintide itself. Maybe a general rundown of the characters and the background plot and all that. Love the podcast ❤️

I love wood elves, they are my o.w. army and there lore is bith great and unknown by mist people as well as underrated

1:25:08 I love that in vermintide Kerillian implies she’d be interested in guiding Kruber through some parts of the forests

At this point, Morghur is the only universal constant.

“In the beginning, there was nothing…(and Morghur)”

I had a lovely time playing as the Sisters of Twilight in Warhammer III, and the Wood Elves overall, as it happens. Once my economy got rolling and I unified all the various magic forests, I could sit back and watch the world burn while sipping tree juice and occasionally brutalizing whoever annoyed me. As a tribute to mister Pancreas Dependa Est, I systematically exterminated every Bretonnian faction and sold the bits I didn’t want off to Reikland. Sometimes it’s nice to play tall, and there’s no taller place than the top of a World Tree.

It's rare to see one of these videos!!! In fact I believe it was a video similar to this one that got me to subscribe!!!

Would love to see some videos of you guys going into some of the AoS faction groupings, like the stormcast's stormhosts or something like that. Be fun to know but also an eye on what to paint next.
Great videos keep it up
