Coinciding with this video, we made another one which actually focuses more on the ISU origins and who is the supreme creator in the Assassin's Creed Universe? Make sure to check it out, if you loved this one.

This is the one series where I wish they would have done more with religion. Its so integral to the history but largely ignored other than just passing references.

5:05 Bassim being a theif doesn't necessarily means he wasn't religious, He could have been stealing due to necessity, It is still a sin but more understandable.

We now Altair's father was muslim (Umar) and his mother was Christian (Maud).

Arno ended as an atheist as we see in his final speech after killing Germaine

Something assassin's Creed does is respecting every religion, I respect them for that

I like the structure of this presentation, how you focused on the characters' perspectives, and made reasonable assumptions where there is lack of information. It's nice that you acknowledge where an assumption is suggested and stuck to observations rather than turning it in to an argument about religion in the comments.

I want more games with basim, a hate how they don't want to focus on the present day anymore.

Going by what he said in the ending, it's likely that Arno became either an atheist or agnostic.

I think desmond should have been added in this list since his initial story is how he becomes an assasin after knowing the story of altair and ezio so he should be considered an assasin

Asalamu alaykum brother great video

So, the thing about Altair is that his last codex page is him talking about hoping/ wanting there to be an afterlife, and being scared that there isn’t one. So maybe he doesn’t believe in a devoted god, but believes in a type of afterlife

~12:47 The situation with the Historical Yasuke's religion is made a little complicated by the fact that he was described with two words that could each, depending on the context, have contradictory religious meanings.  Yasuke was described as a "More Cafre," and both the word "More" and the word "Cafre" could either be religious or racial labels, depending on who was using them.  "More" (or "Moor" in English) came from the name of a group of people from North Africa who conquered much of the Iberian peninsula.  Since they were the main reference point for darker-skinned people a lot of Europeans (most notably the Portuguese in this context) had, the term "Moor" was sometimes used to describe all sorts of darker skinned people (in a vey general sense, like it could be used as a nickname for tan-skinned Europeans or to refer to Black Africans or dark-skinned Indians).  But since Moors were ALSO their main reference point for Muslims, sometimes the term was used as a religious label (for example, in colonial America Black African Muslims were often called "Moors" to contrast them with other Black Africans, and the term "Moor" was applied to various Muslim ethnic groups in Asia).  Meanwhile, "Cafre" was derived from the Arabic word "Kaffir," meaning "Pagan," so sometimes it mean Pagan, but since Europeans heard a lot of Muslims calling Pagan Africans "Kaffir" they sometimes used the term to mean any Black Africans.  So, depending on how you read it, "More Cafre" can either mean "Black African Pagan" or "Muslim Black African."  Either interpretation would also make sense historically, since Yasuke came from Mozambique, which was majority Muslim, but many people who were sold as slaves in Mozambique were captured from the Pagan areas further inland in East Africa.

despite the weird backlash assassins creed games get especially more recently but even if you rewind time i remember ppl complaining that ac games were just reskins and now that it has reverted to rpg ppl miss the old games. point being you can’t make everyone happy and i believe assassins creed is a top 5 gaming franchise of all time

a video that aint just a frickin table of characters and religion, actually going into depth, good!

Everyone discounts Chronicles saga. It’s really good and tells what happened to Juno

Bayek being such a religious protagonist made him so much more human and likeable protagonist. Also, to answer your question, Jesus would have been such an astounding figure to him. Jesus if Bayek interacted with him wouldn't flat out attack Bayek's beliefs, but he would challenge everything he believes in, and if the miracles happened, I firmly believe Bayek would be torn with his history and culture with the beautiful message that Jesus teaches. He might even learn and follow him a little bit. I also think Bayek would actively try to find ways to protect such a harmless and loving man.

The one big hint we get for Edward is that he says he’s married several times (which back then always involved the church) and also says that he’s just trying to make a good life for them, and he stays faithful to his wife even though he’s thousands of miles away, keeping a covenant in the church, which makes me believe he’s at least somewhat religious.

Apart from all the fictions in the game, Assassin or Hashashin is a bunch of teenagers that was recruited with the ability to kill by sneaking into a mansion full of guards and was created by a the Syiah's

Damn bro you forgot about Adéwalé😭
