How much of your peace have you lost trying to control what other people think, say, or do?
Sometimes the greatest source of exhaustion isn't the amount of work we're doing.
It's the amount of emotional energy we're giving to things God never asked us to control.
People talk.
People misunderstand you.
People disagree with your decisions.
People may become uncomfortable when you establish boundaries.
But spiritual maturity requires learning an important lesson:
You cannot control every voice around you—but you can become more intentional about how you respond.
In this powerful message from the Let Them series, Pastor Mike Jr. challenges believers to examine the hidden places where people-pleasing, unhealthy goals, emotional reactions, and misplaced priorities have been draining their spiritual energy.
📖 Scripture Focus: Galatians 1:10 • Isaiah 57:10 • Matthew 6:33
One of the deepest questions in this message is:
Are you pursuing God—or are you only pursuing your goals?
Goals are not necessarily the problem.
The problem begins when achievement becomes your master, people's approval becomes your identity, and success becomes more important than becoming the person God is calling you to be.
Sometimes you're exhausted because you're carrying responsibilities that were never yours.
Sometimes you're frustrated because you're trying to manage people's opinions.
Sometimes you're losing peace because everybody has access to parts of your life they were never meant to control.
And sometimes the next level of spiritual maturity requires something uncomfortable:
BOUNDARIES.
Not every relationship needs to end.
Not everyone is your enemy.
But not everyone needs unlimited access to you either.
You can love people without allowing their opinions to control you.
You can forgive people without giving them authority over your peace.
You can hear criticism without responding to every voice.
You can establish boundaries without becoming bitter.
And you can pursue your goals without allowing those goals to replace your pursuit of God.
Stop spending your spiritual energy trying to control what you cannot control.
Seek God first.
Guard your heart.
Measure your reactions.
Establish healthy boundaries.
And allow your identity to become rooted more deeply in Christ than in people's approval.
You don't have to answer every voice.
You don't have to fight every battle.
You don't have to explain every decision.
Sometimes faith means knowing when to respond.
And sometimes faith means simply:
LET THEM.
