"This has a heavy 1975 energy to it" hmmm i wonder why.....

Funny you mentioned The 1975. This song is about her short lived relationship with Matty Healy from the 1975. Great reaction

the pure comedy of you wondering who the song is about and then immediately commenting on how similar the sound is to the 1975 truly cannot be understated 😭😭

the pen pal comment was so sharp. they were writing songs about each for years before finally getting together for a really short time

Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles are in the video because they were in the dead poets society movie and the album is called tortured poets department

8:23 the laugh I laughed I’m crying- “pen pals? wonder who’s she referring to- major 1975 vibes tho” DUDE

If and when Taylor is writing/singing about another musician, she tends to replicate or take elements of that person’s music style. She did this with Dear John which is about John Mayer. You probably know now why this gave the 1975 vibes lol.

The fact that she is working with the same cinematographer as Scorsese blows my mind.

Yes, you’re right! It’s reported to be about Matty

Im gonna ad some swiftie data: usually her first single music videos have references or easter eggs to other songs or lyrics from other songs of the album, that's why there's a 'Black dog' passing by, the cyclone and typewriter from the song  'The Tortured Poets Department', or her makeup and references to the story of 'Clara Bow'. Also if you re interstimg in following her lyrics, It's almost imposible do both things (watching the video and follow her lyrics), that's why I recommend to other reactioners to read (and maybe understand) her lyrics first, even off camera, and the watch the video. Just if you are interested in her lyrics, its just a recomendation. Anyways, great reaction, greetings from Argentina!

I was craving for this video because I KNEW you would catch those 1975 references :)

Great reaction, Gara. As always 🏆🤍

Your videos give me such a new appreciation for music videos I’ve seen 50 times. I love it!

Ooh! My show is on!!! So glad you’re reacting to this!! Thank you.

Ooooo do Out of the Woods. It's GORGEOUS.

11:42 she’s on the table referencing “oh captain, my captain” moment of the Dead Poets Society

The music videos for cardigan and willow (the only singles from folklore and evermore respectively) are connected visually! I think you'd like to watch them next. There are three videos from Midnights (Anti-hero, Lavender Haze and Karma) that she directed and then the MVs from the Lover era (Lover, the Man and ME!). But she is definitely always involved in the creative process for her videos even if others are directing them. She has funded them herself from the start too. You might like Wildest Dreams for its cinematography, or Look What You Made Me Do for the effects! Love this series <3

I believe there are 2 official Behind The Scenes videos for this music video on Taylor’s channel so get both if you can! I think each video is under 4 mins.

A little easter egg.. when she and Post Malone lay on the floor, she holds a book with the name "Us". She has another song called "The Story of Us"
And the dog is an easter egg for her song "The Black Dog"

This won a VMA for the best video. Taylor directed this video... she has a behind the scenes video, you may want to react to.

I think you would love the Out Of The Woods music video. One of my favourites is Anti-Hero. I think it’s so fun but it also has a deep meaning too. Thank you for your breakdown of the video!
