Zach and Annie moved exactly 2 years ago from sunny California to Bonnie Scotland with their 3 young children. They quit their jobs and left most everything behind for a new way of life. Paracetamol is sold in limited quantities to reduce the risk of overdose. It's highly toxic to the liver, and people have died (intentionally or not) from taking too many, and/or too close together. As a nurse, I was horrified whenever I visited friends and family in the US over the years. The amount of medication, and the variety, is gobsmacking. Powerful medications advertised on television. Everything is an illness, just life is a disease. I know so many people in or from The States who have had a huge number of surgeries for things here in the UK we would never chop someone up for. The NHS is a marvel, I'm very proud of the 40 years I worked in it. But, it's under threat (less so in Scotland) and must be preserved. I always look forward to Sunday with you, and I'm so happy you are so happy. I wish you increasing happiness over many years!

Totally agree Annie, Stirling Castle fills me with awe every time. It has everything you could wish for in a castle. The views are breath taking. We are spoiled in Scotland. Hope you're enjoying the better weather, now it's actually here. ❤

Don't forget to tell people about Glencoe. Driving up the A82 (which runs all the way from Glasgow) up the side of Loch Lomond and over to Glencoe is one beautiful drive. It runs up to Fort William and then Inverness.

Scheduling the quiet life is something we are still getting used to, even when it comes to doing laundry because now we time it with the weather! Also, choosing to walk over driving, or using public transport because the girls much prefer the top deck of a bus to the backseat of a car (who wouldn’t) - it is a novelty for us especially because we moved from Florida.

It’s lovely catching up with the two of you especially because you’re ahead of us in your relocation journey 😊

February 25 we did a Road Trip up through Scotland, we travelled to Lockerbie (to pay our respects), then up to Stirling, visiting Callander, Stirling Castle, William Wallace Monuments, we stayed nr the Castle in Stirling.. beautiful place. Then we travelled up to Pitlochry, staying at Fonab Castle for two days, then going up through the Cairngorms.. this was beautiful in the snow. Up to Inverness, we stayed at the Kingsmill Hotel here, a lovely hotel. We stayed for 2 days, visiting Lochness, Culloden and the Black Isle, fitting a distillery or two while there.
We can’t wait to visit Scotland again. So beautiful, romantic, historic, lovely people.

So agree with you, Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Falls of Bruar, shopping at House of Bruar, Blair Atholl Castle, Scoooone Palace all within a 20 min drive of each other, some of us are so lucky to live here😊

What an incredible leap of faith Zach and Annie took, trading California sunshine for Scotland’s wild charm and building a whole new chapter from the ground up. Watching how their family has grown into this life, embraced the culture, and found their rhythm in a place so different from where they started is genuinely moving. You forgot to mention the benefit in the UK of paying the price you see for products, rather than the mathematical checkout test in the US. While I was living in the U.S I had to put my Stephen Hawking hat on every time I went shopping.

I cannot believe that before watching you I was watching an American lady who came to stay in the U.K. from theUS with her British husband because she and her daughter were traumatised by a school shooting an the anxiety about health care.
After being in the U.K.for some time she found that she no longer self medicated and mentioned the amount of food additives that are illegal in the U.K.
She said that freedom from fear of being ill made her ill in the US, not something that I had ever thought about until a Scottish relative who lived in America most of her life came back when she retired because of health costs.

Keep up the good work.
PS my wife does not listen to the weather forecast she just looks out the windows back and front.
