What he said to his mother was inappropriate, and JK should have scolded him for it rather than hitting him. Even if he did hit him, he should have followed up by explaining the mistake, which he failed to do; instead, he just stayed with his wife. That is completely wrong. If you are capable of hitting your child then you should also be capable of explaining things to them. I know this is mother centric ff so it's ok .
