I literally used to detail cars for a living and I still detail my car. I use a clay bar on my car. And every little piece of dirt, Sapp and other little piece of grime came out with no issues. And the paint felt smooth as silk. But after you clay car it, you still have to wax it. Because the clay bar is basically removes all protectant off your car and just gives you a nice clean clear coat and your car will honestly look like new as long as the paint is still in good shape. After you wash your car and clay bar it. You can actually use a spray wax. One that you spray on and wipe off. You don't have to do a full polish with actual wax. I use Meguiars Quik detailer and wax in one and my car comes out spotless and Shining like a gem.

A trick for determining the amount of contamination in paint I use, is this. After washing and on a dry paint job, put your and in a plastic bag (baggie, grocery bag …) and lightly!!! Rub it over the paint using your finger tips only. It will surprise the hell out of you what is imbedded in the paint. Clay bar is the only way I know to remove it.

Great tips, but I do wonder about the return on effort. If your motivation is just to get better resale value, the reward may be less than the effort. Never forget to price in your own time as well as the disbursements, as that is time you could have spent in a more profitable or fulfilling way. For me, the main motivation is having a car that looks good, and that increases the rewards side of the equation, but still important to price in your time as it's obviously better to pay someone if you could earn more than the cost in the time saved or if you work long hours and your leisure time is scarce

I have a 2019 white pearl Honda CRV. You have saved me and my car. I hate the gray plastics outside and inside. I can do most of these myself. Thank you so much! Could you please make a list of products you used? Also where do we buy them?

Appreciate the tips!
I researched further about the raw linseed oil and mineral spirits. The mixture inside a car creates strong solvent fumes that are toxic and the oil takes days or weeks to cure in a confined space 🤨

I really appreciate this video. I’m 75 years old on a fixed income. This truly helps me to bring my old 2000 Chrysler up to date! The car has less than 122K original miles (my mother bought new and I inherited). I’d like exterior to reflect the care the engine has received.
