As an 21 years old Turkish citizen i can say that , this is because of political islam.

When i was kid i was religious person but due to political islam of erdoğan i become deist

This is the result of political Islam. Secularism was established to prevent people's religious beliefs from being exploited by politicians. However, since the principle of secularism began to be abandoned in favor of political Islam, more and more people have become atheists or deists. Some have even returned to the old Turkic religion, Tengrism.

As a  turkish citizen and 46 yo  I'm proud to be a deist !

Shouldn’t be too surprising, the directorate of religious affairs in the country said allah was who determines the prices of stuff (direct quote from him), which I think was the response to why everything was so expensive in the country. They would rather criticise God than the president 💀. People keep getting away with stuff by using religion, everyone getting sick and tired.

I know many turks who arent religous and are more agnostic and more proud about their own culture and history

As a 15 y/o Turkish agnostic, I can say that the things said in this video are true. There are 30 people in my class and including me 10 of us are either atheist, agnostic or deist. Most of the rest are secular muslims, only 5 of them do the namaz. (Our school is in a slightly conservative district of Istanbul if ur wondering)

As a Turkish atheist, I want to say that erdo's policies helped me find my path. Thanks to him, I began reading the Quran in Turkish and thoroughly researching the origins of the religion. That's when I realized the argument of 'it's the people, not the religion' is wrong; the religion itself has too many issues.

I’m Turkish x Muslim and  now DEIST

its not atheism its called realism 😞

Also Turkey has a border with Middle East, and many arabs living in Turkey. So turks seeing real islam and begings hate it because islam is against the modern age. Turks doesnt want believe this medieval legend.

People choose reality rather than fairy tales. It will happen today or tomorrow. And it is obvious.

Turkey is a secular country and will stay like that forever.

i'm turkish non-devout muslim and only reason is political islamism. it ruined the entire country

I'm a Turkish agnostic-atheist. And for my spiritual needs I turned to the original Turkic pagan rituals. Tengri (The Blue Sky) is the source of Turkish spirituality. Turks are Central Asian horse riders under blue sky and our highest religious value is "Freedom"

I was an Islamist and have left that Ideology and Religion for good. I guess it was sometime in 2016, thanks to Tayyip, AKP, Gülenists, Tarikats, Cemaats, etc.

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was a brilliant man, soldier, and a leader of the people of Turkiye. Turkiye must remain secular as our great father Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was so addimately against religious interference with state and politics so to keep the newly formed republic to remain secular and move towards modernation of Turkiye for future generations to come. Everyone is free to practice their own religious beliefs and not be scrutinized for their choices; faith is ours and ours alone and not for our governments to determine.

I am Türk and agnostic

The real turks wasn't muslim. Gokturks, Huns, Old Uyghurs wasn't muslim. They were Tengrist, Buddhist, Shamanists. As a Tengrist Turk, I must say everything is with science.  Science is the key to modernity.

Times have changed now, people do not want to sleep with the religious tales told by the government.

oh the irony, while spineless british politicains and other europeans cower before islam turkey rises up against it, please come and teach our politicains
