Carlos doesn't play the guitar, he gives it a voice and makes it sing.

Carlos Santana is one of the true guitar masters!  Sometimes this overshadows the fact that his rhythm section was the best in the business during the 70's!

You are experiencing the honor  of listening to one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Without Carlos, it would never be the same.

Santana has played with artists of most genres.  I have concluded everything goes better with Santana.

Carlos Santana was the most talented guitarist of my generation. He is legendary!

A ten out of ten song and album. Absolutely flawless.

When a Mexican American takes on British blues rock, this is what you get. World music at its best !
I can’t listen to this track without hearing the organ intro to Oye Como Va at the very end.

Santana -Better late than never!!!  WELCOME!!

The percussion in this is next level..

We know when you say "Spanish" you actually mean Latin American. The percussion, and even the way Santana plays with the time in his leads, around and behind the tonic, carries a huge African influence. Santana and his group brought this to rock.

"Black Magic Woman" is a song written by British musician Peter Green, which first appeared as a single for his band Fleetwood Mac in 1968. But I like the Santana version better

The amount of great 70's guitarists is just crazy!  How could anyone pick a favorite out of all of them without forgetting others in the process?

Another Santana that will give you chills is Samba Pa Ti

History fact :  Santana stole the show at Woodstock ( the original).  No band even came close.  "Soul sacrifice" will change your life !!!!

Santana brought a whole new groove to music by incorporating hid guitar with the Latin vibes around him.  A musical genius!

He just makes the guitar sing.

Santana is one of the best pick guitarists ever!!!

This is so special because each instrument was allowed to shine in its distinctive way. There was no selfishness in Santana, even as a great guitarist he made sure the entire ensemble was featured coordinated and breathed it into superior musical craftsmanship. That’s why he stands the test of time, I believe this song was done in 1973 maybe earlier because of Woodstock, which was in 69.

Love how this track moves seamlessly into 'Oye Como Va'. Santana is one of the finest rock bands to ever exist.

Gregg Rolie was the co-founding member of Santana. Gregg was the keyboardist and lead singer with Santana from 1969 - 1972. He was just 22 when he started Santana with Carlos. Gregg was with Santana when they played at the Woodstock Music and Art Festival in 1969. He wrote/co-wrote several songs for Santana during his time with them. Guitarist Neal Schon joined Santana in 1971 at the age of 17. In 1973, Gregg and Neal left Santana and joined Herbie Herbert (tech and manager) to create a band that would quickly become known as Journey. And as the saying goes, “the rest is history.” 🤟
