Hope Gabe develops this team up with Tyra Black! They've got fast hands. They've got tricks! It's already impressive that the score barely moved at the start. They're truly the most likely to topple the Ben-ALW overdominance.

A lot of players had caught up to Ben Johns in hands, dinking, drops and drive but no one is touching him when it comes to overhead. Dude is the best overhead hitter in the league. Its not only powerful, its so deceptive too how he hits it.

Courts like that are pain in the ass for players and viewers.

i like tyra and tardio. tyra had a bunch of unforced errors but everyone struggles against AL. there is promise here and shes usually much more consistent in those cross court dink battles.

Uh. Not again.

Congrats to the GOATS! But why did the PPA schedule both Phoenix & Vegas during hotter months? Bad for players and fans. If PPA and pro pickleball wants to become a world class sport and grow even more, they need to play in better arenas with bigger and better seating. Concrete slabs to sit on is horrible and the crowd is too far from the action. IMO.

Horrible camera work!they

too hot to play

So annoying watch Tyra hit drops that are pretty good but she doesn't move up at all. It's like she's waiting for them to be absolutely perfect before moving.

I love Tyra, but even after 3+years of playing at the professional level she is still making fundamental errors in dinking and especially dropping the ball in the kitchen from the transition zone that enables her and her teammate to come up safely to the kitchen.  She rarely comes up to the kitchen even when her drops are good (which is rare because she does not drop the ball well consistently)Here’s why she most likely does that: she’s so bad at dropping balls from mid court without it being high enough for her opponents to hit down on that she’s conditioned I really enjoy watching Tyra, but even after playing professionally for over three years, I still notice some basic mistakes in her dinking, especially when she drops the ball in the kitchen from the transition zone. This helps her and her teammate get safely into the kitchen. She doesn’t often get into the kitchen, even when her drops are good (which isn’t often because she doesn’t consistently drop the ball well). Here’s why she might do that: she struggles to drop balls from mid-court without them being too high for her opponents to hit down on. Because of this, she’s conditioned herself to expect it to be hit that way every time, so staying back gives her the time and distance to get a paddle on it, hoping to stay in the point. Staying back also encourages her to hit higher than ideal balls back to her opponents, creating a positive feedback loop for this less-than-ideal playing style. It’s amazing how she’s a professional and doesn’t see this, or that no one else has pointed it out (or maybe she was told and doesn’t want to change it, or can’t change it objectively). I thought it would be impossible to be at this level without mastering something as basic as this. Her game could be so much better with practice in this area, but sadly, if she hasn’t figured it out after three years of professional play, I don’t see it changing anytime soon. herself to expect it to be hit like that every time, so staying back gives her the reaction time and distance to get a paddle on it in the hopes of staying in the point. And staying back reinforces hitting higher than ideal balls back to her opponents and it acts as a positive feedback loop for this actually negative style of play.  It’s actually incredible how she’s a pro and that she doesn’t recognize this, or that no one else has mentioned this (or who knows, maybe she was told this and she refuses or can’t change this objectively bad habit) to her because I thought it would be impossible to even be at this level without mastering something as basic as this. Her game could be so much better with practice in this area, but sadly, if she hasn’t figured it out after 3+ years of playing at the pro level, I don’t see it ever changing.

Great job by the GOATS! And the camera production needs improving. What's with that center court camera always moving around? IMO.
