Why the fuck are Matt and Shane taking such a strong stance in defense of tariffs what the fuck, this is obviously not entertaining but also like they both clearly don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about

Tariffs aren't the reason why we don't make stuff here anymore. It's because we have regulations to protect people, and other poorer countries don't, and are willing to sacrifice people and property. We have rules saying you can't dump poisons in the river and you have to have fire sprinklers in the factory, for example, but that costs money; rich jerks see that they can go to another country and not spend for fire sprinklers, and can dump chemicals in the river instead of paying to properly dispose of them, so them go over there to save money. Now idiots will say "well we should lower our standards, and let corporations poison us and burn down factories full of workers, so they can save a few bucks", but the answer isn't to lower our standards, but instead to force those countries to raise their standards; say we won't do business with you unless you equalize standards with ours. Once you remove the competitive advantage of going to another country to avoid regulations, because we are the biggest consumer economy, factories will naturally return, and we will start manufacturing again. They only manufacture overseas now because it costs less to ship stuff than it does to meet our regulations, but again, if we get all the other countries to agree to match them, their unfair competitive advantage disappears, and suddenly producing in the USA looks more attractive and profitable to corporations again. It's simple: don't let corporations go overseas to open dangerous factories that pollute and underpay workers, and they have no reason not to do their business here. But TARIFFS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, AND ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD THINK THAT IS THE CASE!!! Pay attention, or do the tiniest bit of basic research, before spouting off about topics you don't understand on your very popular international platform. Only idiots would be looking to comedians for political information, but unfortunately, there are many here, it seems.

This one's hard to listen to. Shane you pay the tariffs when Trump decides to put them on other countries. If u buy anything from those countries the cost will be passed onto the consumer thus you are paying that added tax.Tariffs make prices go up they always have, u like history look into them... Countries also have them to protect certain industries and they vary depending on what trade deals are in place. Canada can't obviously buy as much from America as America can buy from Canada so to have even trade wouldn't even make sense would it? That's why we had free trade deals but Trump tore them up even tho he's the one that signed them and bragged about it after his last term. If u want everything you buy to be made in America can u even fathom how much everything will be?? There's a reason things are the way they are, they aren't perfect but America is not getting raped and this was all a bunch of horseshit for nothing honestly
