One of the coolest things about this build up was how all of Smackdown’s wrestlers, face and heel, all showed up to the Raw arena in JBL’s limo. It just felt like a WAR! 🔥
That’s the one thing I miss regarding to Smackdown vs Raw, the friction between brands. Now, since there is no conflict between general managers in current WWE, there’s no need for the brands to be feuding.
This was so iconic; we actually had a fight at school like this. There were 2 groups of kids in grades 9 & 10 that belonged to a "friend group," and we role-played it like a SmackDown vs Raw event with fake wrestling and fighting. Teachers stepped in and we got detention, but it was hilarious because we all knew it was fake and nobody got hurt. We all stayed friends even after.
WWE’s booking of the separate shows in the early 2000s was so elite, hearin a Smackdown wrestler’s theme song hit on RAW, felt legit wrong & visa versa.
