πŸ”₯ THE SUMMER NIGHT IN LONDON THAT CARRIED REGGAE TO THE WORLD

Welcome to Attic Tape Sessions. This session is a tribute inspired by Bob Marley & The Wailers' legendary performances at the Lyceum Theatre in London on July 17 and 18, 1975. It was a turning point: Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer had left the group, and Bob now stood at the front, backed by a tight new band and the soaring harmonies of the I-Threes, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, and Judy Mowatt. The sweltering theatre was packed far beyond capacity, with fans who couldn't get in gathering outside just to hear. The shows were recorded and released later that year as "Live!", and its version of "No Woman, No Cry" became a hit and the definitive recording of the song, helping turn Marley from a Jamaican star into a global icon.

This session recreates that sweltering, spiritual night, plus a few classics from the same era: uplifting joy, smoldering defiance, hungry warning, playful celebration, tender romance, heartfelt comfort, proud spirit, tense storytelling, and a fiery, rousing final call to stand up, all captured with the raw, unpolished character of a real 1975 theatre recording.

🎧 PERFECT FOR:
