This gentlemen did a fantastic job putting this replica together.  You are lucky to have been able to experience it.  Most people would give their right arm to get a shot at driving this.  Good for you Magnus!  Keep stories like this coming!

What a beautiful tribute to the 917. You wouldn't believe how small the 917 is in person. A 914 is just about as big. The 917 always looked so large in photos and film. I saw my first 917K at the very first Rennsport Reunion at Lime Rock Park back in the day. Got to say hello to Norbert Singer as well!

It is great that the world has eccentric people with passion such as these two.

So so so honored to have been a part of this. Making magic in the mountains. 🫡 Next time, LA!

Norway is absolutely beautiful. That waterfall in the background looks so cool. What a absolute masterpiece this man has made 👌🔥

My dream Porsche to have, even as a replica. And this one is to die for.

The original is arguably one of the best looking sports cars ever build, and to me this even tops it because the dude made it so he could drive it on the road. Some of the footage almost looked like CG, too good to be real :D Fantastic!

6:18 The guy was like: bro is that just a 917 cruising here?!

Ahhhh! To drive a 917... it's on my bucket list! This turned out to be a great recreation. Thanks for sharing with us, Magnus!

There’s something about building your own version of a special car. I built my own 997 GT2RS over a 5 year period from a 997 Turbo. Not as amazing as this car of course but building the car involves staring at images of the original and trying to find out if you can buy or have made the same item for your car. Great experience.

this is mad! the 917 with the atmosphere of the norvegian roads is insanely cool!

Hats off to Knut Markegård for building this incredible machine. This is truly the stuff dreams are made of!

These replica cars are fun. Purely about driving and not a care about collectibility or value!

16:58 His response to Magnus commenting that he was a true outlaw was quite amusing; perhaps he was unaware that it was intended as a compliment.

I drove the very same roads together with my son, in my 66beetle, and stayed at the same Laerdalsoyri Motorhotel . EPIC! (And I am born and raised in the fjords of Norway, but the scenery amazes me every time)

21:00 That shot is insane, a 917k replica driving in a snow landscape. Just stunning.

Presenter is clearly on the spectrum 🤣

I had the good fortune to be able to sit in the 1970 Daytona 24 hour winner, a couple years ago. Getting in with the steering wheel on is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done! Lol !  You can’t sit on the door sill or put any weight on any body panels, as they are very thin fiberglass . You put your left leg around the left side of the wheel before sliding down into the seat, then try to figure out how to get your right leg between the steering wheel and the gear knob. You are lying down but the seat is so concave you have almost no back support, and at 5’8”, I could just reach the pedals.  It was magnificent! Once inside with the door shut I had an epiphany;  “racing is life, everything that comes before or after - is just waiting.”
Isn’t it amazing that a 55 year old race car can look so perfect!

Absolutely unbelievable. Watched every second.

The precision, passion, and time taken to painstakingly bring this car to life as close to original as possible but also make the completely custom changes is beyond amazing.

This is so lit.
A 917 in the snowy Mountains of Norway.
Unreal.
What a Blast!
