For loose powders, I store them in a squeezable eye drop bottle. Really easy to control the amount I want to dispense and less risk of spilling powder everywhere when you open the container (speaking from experience 😅) Saw this from a MUA on TikTok!

If people already have a magnet wand for magnetic nail polish on hand, try using it for handling those metal pans! I tried it on a whim because I had one sitting next to me at the time, and it worked so well. I kinda felt like a wizard.

Really great idea. In the early 2000's Trish McEvoy used to come out with "emergency cards". Credit card sized thin (1/2" max) tiny powder palettes. Then she made them double layered with cream face products on one level and shadows on the upper level along with curated tiny high quality brushes (about 3" long) with full sized heads.. Then she stopped making them by around 2014 ish. They were not refillable but her regular line had small (about 3"x3") and a larger double layer magnetic cases. She revamped them and only seems to offer a 5" x3"x1" double magnetic case. It would be great if it were a little smaller and thinner like her older cases. The double layer really helps keep the creams and powders separate.

Salt NY changed my makeup in general and it’s literally sitting about a foot away from me bc I just melted and mixed a blush with some sneaky balm to mute it down. Their products are amazing, but this little case has totally changed the way I makeup. Love seeing you enjoy it also. Powder and liquid do well in a contact lens case. They’re like $2 on amazon

As a makeup artist who has downsized her kit, the easiest way to carry powder is in a similar squeeze bottle that you had showed your foundation in. Just squeeze a small puff of it into the palm of your clean hand, or onto a tissues, and then buff your powder brush or puff into it and use on your face. You can get smaller squeeze bottles depending on how long you are travelling. This can be used for any loose powder.

Dollar Store has the same little containers Amanda used for the liquid foundation, minus the dropper. They’re in the craft section. I use them for foundation when I travel

I found your video and realised I have free will and use almost exclusively cream and balm products
So i did this too! Foundation, blush, bronzer, contour, highlight, colour corrector and concealer all in one place

For loose powder, if you have a mini travel container, you can usually reuse it when it’s empty. I have a 1g makeup forever powder container and I’m able to pop out the plastic sifter and fill it with whatever loose powder I’m using at the time. I’ve been doing that for like 5 years and it’s still going strong!

I depotted my Haus Labs foundation into a 5ml lip gloss container with a doe foot applicator. Makes it way faster to put on makeup, and it's absolutely tiny so good for travel!

I just keep all of my minis and Sephora deluxe sample containers that can be refilled, including powders. The powder ones have a sifter! Unfortunately the powder will still come through the sifter but you could put some tape over it I suppose, and it’s less messy than if you don’t have a sifter at all! Also I mentioned keeping the outside containers of single shadows—if you find a small face powder in a contour palette that fits in one of those, you could turn it into a tiny pressed powder compact :)

Salt NY was a game changer for me, too. Not only is Sneaky Balm an amazing product, but it has also made me rethink how I buy products. I’m much more likely to purchase a “blush refill” or a pro eyeshadow refill and skip packaging whenever possible. I’ve also repotted Sneaky Balm, a cream contour, and a blush into the tiniest eye shadow pan. It’s more than enough for touch ups before meetings and doesn’t add bulk to my bag.

I feel like if a business put out a mini kit and marketed it as a travel kit/touch up kit, supplied the empties and a case, I would be ALL OVER IT.
The convenience of having a little kit in my purse to touch up during a long day would be a game changer! I am walking around with a hunchback because I'm so weighed down by 87 full size products rattling around in the bottom of my purse! 😆😆

when I put single shadows into empty palettes, I like the keep the little round single eyeshadow component, and I find it's very useful for stuff like this! You can always use them to carry or store other singles of various kinds, but also I like to take those sample blister pack products they give you at sephora of like probably a gram of cream blush, cream highlight, lipstick, etc, cut off the square corners, keep the cover on the blister packaging, and just use the single eyeshadow container to keep that blister pack closed while I use it up, cause there is usually way more than one use in there. It's like it's own little mini. You might be able to store some singles in those when you switch them out of your palettes!

Art toolkit sells artist travel palettes with magnetized tins. They come in a few sizes too. I love them. Also. You can get magnetic sheets with an adhesive back and cut little pieces to get tins to stick or even glass or plastic.
