technically yugi is following the rule of the Battal city tournament where both players can play spell cards on both players turn

Noone truely knows when the Jar was started. Only the Pony knows. And it's terrified.

My favorite Yugioh meme was an old YTP where Joey is asking Yugi what he's doing wrong and how to be better.
Yugi gets up and looks straight at him with a "No one can win the game but me."
'Wha-?'
"That's how the game works."
And then he steals his deck.

I recently watched TGS Anime's video about the Duelist Kingdom rules and he made a comparison to Dungeons and Dragons: Basically, if you can successfully argue that your play makes logical sense, then it's allowed under Duelist Kingdom rules, even if it's complete nonsense from a game mechanics standpoint.

as a resident of Newark New Jersey, I am so happy Solid JJ accurately depicted my home city. Nuclear armed civilians and all

The jar thing has existed for nearly as long as the internet has

0:46 it sounds like Yu Gi is operating on Duelist Kingdom rules where, despite what the cards do, there's like D&D level of messing around. "I will have the iron Golem attack the moon (a magic card) which will cause the tide to receed, beaching your sea monsters." He's using the Kuriboh to run 'Countersong' against the flute (also a magic card).

Blue Eyes couldn’t fly over the wall of infinite Kuribos. It’s infinite

FYI, for the Colosseum duel, The Flute of Summoning Dragon's effect allows BOTH players to summon up to 2 dragon-type monsters from their hand, so out of technicality, Yugi could summon the Red-Eyes Black Dragon in his hand specifically because the flute allows it and Curse of Dragon if Yugi was still running it, like how in the duel against Pandora, Black/Dark Magic Curtain allows ALL players to summon a monster with "Black/Dark Magician" in its card name from their deck.

The jar meme existed before Covid.

8:52 Yugi wasn't considering it. He was more than willing to kill Kaiba. Also, the idea of Kaiba jumping off a roof because he had a very bad fiscal year is very hilarious. Especially considering that rich people in the Yugiverse are more than willing to go full Mafia on people they hate. And if Kaiba got a very bad fiscal year, a lot of rich guys who invested in his operations would be gunning for him.
