Makobe attended the launching ceremony in Shimonoseki in April of this year and has been looking forward to the inaugural ferry ever since reservations began.
So, just to ride this ferry, I left Beppu early in the morning on November 14th, traveling via Fukuoka from New Chitose to Otaru.
Even though I went all the way to Hokkaido, all I did while waiting for the ferry to depart was stroll around Otaru city (lol).

Come to think of it, I did something similar on the Tsugaru Kaikyo Ferry "Blue Grace" inaugural ferry service in August. 💦

The new ship, "Keyaki," is named after the city tree of Maizuru City, Kyoto Prefecture.
The ferry's interior design is said to be elegant, graceful, and warm, inspired by the concepts of Kyoto and history.
The new ship, "Keyaki," boasts a variety of new amenities, including a two-story, open-ceiling forward salon, a large observation bath where you can relax while overlooking the ocean, a screening room offering an extraordinary experience, and Wi-Fi in all guest rooms. 🚢

Despite the late-night inaugural flight, in addition to Makobe, we also had guests from Oita, a fun truck driver, and many YouTubers (including a famous YouTuber!) 💦
