The two year old DJI Mic 2 is still a viable option in 2026. It has 3.5mm input port that allows me use it to convert my usb c boom mic to be wireless.

I bought the dji OSMO pocket 3 when it came out because of the flexibility with the audio. I am the videographer at my church, and I use the camera to record the sermons. Good audio is always an issue with these kinds of videos. I have found that I can plug the mic 2 into the sound board with the 1/8" jack and get excellent audio from the wireless mic that the preachers uses coming through the sound board. I'm with you. That jack opens up many more options than the new models that don't have it. Thanks for the video. You just confirmed what I've been thinking as I've been looking at the mic mini 3. I just got myself DJI Mic 2. It is oldie but as you said unbeatable. The very reason I chose it over newer Mini models is 3.5mm port for external microphone.
I hope DJI Mini 4 would have at least addon adapter (like some other manufacturers do) that would allow attaching external microphone.

You could even plug a zoom H5 studio or similar into it, although it can only sum the mix to mono

Which audio interface do you use to connect the RX (3:25)? I only know of audio interfaces with XLR inputs, not USBC

I just got the mic 3 but I might go back and get the mic 2 instead because the magnetic clip on the mic 3 is very flimsy. I probably will never use the 3.5mm lavalier port on the mic 2 but as somebody who uses these devices mostly while climbing I just can't afford for the device fall off of me. Even without a 3.5, as long as they have a USBC on the mic 4, you should be able to still do a lot with it.
