The transition between Batpized in Fear and Open Hearts does not lag. You got to re-activate the gapless playback setting on Spotify.. 🙈

Story -
wake Me Up - tells us The Weeknd is still in purgatory and has been trapped for so long he can’t tell what’s even real anymore
Cry for Me - Until we’re skin and Bones - this is The Weeknd doing more of the same as he has done in the past, stuck in his life and memories of sin and partying, however something changes breaking what has been the cycle he’s been trapped in since DawnFM.
Baptized in Fear - The Weeknd recalls a story of almost dying to an overdose, a deeply personal song the likes of which we haven’t seen before. The figure in the corner is the devil, who’s finally coming to claim The Weeknd after his time in purgatory, but doesn’t yet, instead the Devil mocks and laughs at him in his misery as he nears death, but he survives which leads into…
Open Hearts - The Weeknd realized he needs to finally change, but doesn’t know how to brake the cycle and open his heart, he makes reference a couple times throughout the early and middle of the album to a girl, who I believe is meant to represent an angel/God, who is trying to save him. The Weeknd says that “fallen angels call my name, but the things you say keeps me alive again.” The fallen angel is Satan and other demons calling out to him, trying to drag him back down into sin and to break him so they can claim his soul, but God or this angels voice is more powerful than the devil and keeps him alive, however things get worse before they get better.
Opening Night - The song here serves as a sorta ethereal voice intruding into The Weeknd’s mind, its haunting and reeks of his past life, and its temptation is almost inresistable, calling him to relapse into his olds ways.
Reflections Laughing - This song is divided into three major narrative parts. The first part, The Weeknd’s, is him desperately begging to the higher power he referenced earlier, pleading with this power to not let him drown, or in other words to relapse again. Sadly, The Weeknd hasn’t realized yet that God can’t save him alone, The Weeknd needs to choose to save himself, and in the second part of the song we hear a voice, perhaps God, perhaps an angel, call him, begging, imploring him to not give back into his old ways, but in the background we can hear that he has relapsed as he’s drinking and potentially popping pills again. The third and final part of the song is Travis Scott’s verse, which may at first seem like a normal Travis verse talking about hoes and running the lobby, but the robotic distortion and the previous parts tell us this is something deeper. Deep voice Travis is meant to represent The Weeknd after relapse, it’s distorted to represent how he’s become distorted and the lyrics reflect his return to sin and his old ways.
Enjoy the Show - This song shows us the return of The Weeknd to his sin, continuing where the last song left off. The Weeknd laments how he hopes that at least we enjoy the show as he damns himself. Future’s verse is again just another voice of The Weeknd’s darkness similar to Travis.
Given Up on Me - This song has two parts, the first is The Weeknd talking again to God or an angel. He’s trying to say to this power to give up on him, that he can’t change, that he should be left to his fate, Future’s vocals add to this again representing The Weeknd’s darkness, or potentially even the Devil or a demon, which would be on brand for Future. However, this power doesn’t leave and instead tells him that they could never leave him alone, which touches something in his soul, as he sees a glimpse of tomorrow, or heaven, this is the “sunshine” he sees. It scares him and he doesn’t think it’s good for him, yet he still asks the Lord not to give up on him, signaling there is still hope for him.
I can’t wait to get there - Take me back to LA - this is a slight detour from the narrative of the album so far, but it is intentional. Across this period we can start to see the splitting of The Weeknd into two characters, those being The Weeknd and Abel himself. Despite trying to change across this period he is still lingering upon some of his past sins, with The Weeknd declaring himself to be Timeless, meaning he still is holding on to his boastful pride and hubris, Playboi Carti feeds into that with his feature in Timeless. However, in Take Me Back to LA we see a huge crack start to form as for one of the first times ever, we see Abel legitimately admit to himself that he is not better alone. The Weeknd declares in the first half of the song that he is still better by himself, thus we see the rift starting to develop.
Big Sleep - This song is huge for the overall development of the narrative. It opens with The Weeknd singing some “la la la”s representing that during his stay in purgatory, which he still resides, he has been screwing around and has hardly made any changes, however we have seen that he is trying legitimately to change but keeps getting dragged back down by the devil and temptation. However, a large cinematic voice and best interrupts the song, as we hear the voice of God speaking down to Abel / The Weeknd, telling him how he has waisted his borrowed time, and he is nearing the next phase, big sleep is coming, or judgement in other words. Hearing that the end is nigh we can hear The Weeknd and Abel shout out in the finale of the song, and there we see the two personalities split as Abel realizes that The Weeknd as a character and symbol needs to be shed in order to make the changes he needs to before tomorrow arrives (judgement).
Give me Mercy / Drive - here we see and hear Abel by himself, he is asking the lord for forgiveness, genuinely repenting and declaring that all the bleeding was worth it now he has found God. Drive echoes that as now Abel no longer fears Tomorrow, in fact, he’s happy, and just wants to drive to it.
The Abyss - here we pick back up with The Weeknd, who states that he tried to be something he could never be, and asks if he can just close his eyes with dignity. While Abel is changing and healing, The Weeknd isn’t and has accepted that he can’t. The song literally represents how The Weeknd can already feel himself falling, meaning he knows he won’t see Heaven when tomorrow arrives.
Red Terror - this song follows Abel in the quest for further healing, acknowledging his past mistakes and how he has left his mother down after all she did to try and give him a better life.
Without a Warning - This song is the finale for The Weeknd character. In the song he questions if tomorrow is even coming, echoing his sentiments in Wake Me Up showing yet again how he hasn’t changed. The only thing he knows for sure is that at least the crowd will scream his name when he’s gone.
Hurry Up Tomorrow - this is the final for Abel as he arrives at Tomorrow and judgement and sees heaven, promising to change after having spent the past acknowledging his wrongs and begging for forgiveness. As a result, Abel ascends from Purgatory and is free……
However….we hear the wind blowing and the beat leaves us, as Abel ascends taking it with him leaving a cold barren waist land with the wind howling. As the beat progresses in this cold waist land, we hear a synth, a familiar synth, Hurry up Tomorrow transitions perfectly into The Weeknd’s first song, High for This. This can only mean one thing…while Abel is free, The Weeknd is trapped in his own personal hell, doomed to forever repeat the cycle for eternity.

With this album you must experience Abel’s discography/catalog, this "Divine Trilogy" (the trilogy being After Hours,Dawn FM & Hurry Up Tomorrow), and his career trajectory in order to get the meaning or why the album is titled "Hurry Up Tomorrow" -
After Hours has him living the nightmarish reality. It is believed that The Weeknd's character dies at the end of the album since he's "bleeding out".
Dawn FM has him being stuck in a phase of purgatory. He has been stuck too long that he's grown old which is shown in the visuals of that album. The teaser also has him saying, "I look in the mirror and feel old and new, stuck in a limbo unable to move". He was paralysed in 'Until I Bleed Out' and Dawn FM had both young and old Abel. Finally, we have the lyrics from 'Wake Me Up' where he sings, "Sun is never rising, I don't know if it's day or night". Now, he's waiting for tomorrow to come so that he can fully embrace the light of day, i.e., end his past life as The Weeknd and finally embrace his true self as Abel Tesfaye…HURRY UP TOMORROW. ﾒ૦🖤🕯️(It’s all came full circle who would’ve thought we’ve been right where it all started since the beginning (“High For This”), all to tell ourselves subconsciously…Hurry Up Tomorrow. It’s all bittersweet in hindsight. Also I must say this album is the best album of this decade just based off production alone. And Mike Dean is The Synth GOD! He put that magic fairy dust on most of these tracks for Abel to go off on em. My favorite song: “Baptized In Fear” (Reason being is it has all the elements of a perfect track extremely immersive production/soundscape,stellar vocals from Abel,deep/emotionally charged songwriting. Reminds me of his older material. My 2nd favorite track off the album is "Without a Warning" I can’t even listen to this entirely all the way through cause it genuinely makes me cry. And specifically the section where he sings "How do I know tomorrow's comin'?
Especially when I always kiss the sky
Especially when I always chase the high
I don't suppose tomorrow's comin'" - The Weeknd the level of uncertainty from The Weeknd and just finally letting go of the past for his own self acceptance, it truly is beautiful and melancholy. Abel's vocal performance sounds like he's ascending into the afterlife very reminiscent of his song "Faith".)
