"The really good drivers have the dead insects on the side windows" - Walter Röhrl

In the pre-Youtube days, I must have watched this video around 2000 times in Ebaumsworld...

7:34 He's not adjusting the belts there, he's just adjusting his TITANIC BALLS.

A car that only goes straight when your foot is to the floor and wants to swap ends as soon as you let off or dare brake. Fun in sims, terrifying irl.
This guy has huge balls and the skills to back it up...and I'm pretty sure those are slippers.

"On closer inspection they appear to be loafers" - McBain

Internets: 911s are cool but you can't drift them.
Stefan: Hold my beer.

This feels less like watching a man driving a car fast, and more like watching a man driving a car hard.

Ah the class RUF Yellowbird video. Wearing loafers like Aryton Senna too - chefs kiss.

Now we need a logical followup of a virtual replica of Yellowbird and Jimmer attempting to complete a lap in it on virtual green hell. Because that would be fun.

There goes a man who doesn't have to buy his own tyres.

By way of context, Jimmer, 1986 was ten years after Niki Lauda had his horrific accident at the Green Hell (which, as you know, was the last time F1 raced there). 1986 was the last year that rallying had Group B. The Cold War was still a thing, and West Germany (officially, the Federal Republic of Germany, der Deutsche Bundesrepublik) was always going to be the first target if the Warsaw Pact countries ever chose to invade western Europe.

In the UK, the American early warning radar stations would have given us a four-minute warning in the event of a mass launch of Soviet ICBMs.

It was a different time.

Driving this car in Assetto Corsa I always thought there in now way this car actually handled like this. Well obviously they got it spot on after watching this 😂

The ruf
The ruf
Thr ruf is on fire!
No thats just the tire smoke....

In Karussell, he used second gear; the Yellowbird has a dog-leg shift pattern, meaning first gear is down and to the left.

Contrary to popular belief, the yellowbird did have 3 massive and important safety features.
1- a healthy and well established fear of the thing.
Then 2 & 3 the magnitude of the drivers testes 😂

There is something about older video's like this that grab my attention. It looks like a different dimension, but it's simply a video of 40 years ago. I love it!

this thing was built like 15 km away from where i grew up and still live (again). it's so cool see the new RUFs on our country roads, and my dad's friends with Alois Ruf… great guy.
and: i've always loved Stephan's slippers and white socks :D

This, Climb Dance (Vatanen in Peugeot at Pikes Peak), and Rendezvous were sort of the Trinity for me. And all three hold up. Hundreds of millions of butts puckered lo these many decades

Leh Keen's Rain Dance - 24 Hours Nürburgring - /DRIVER'S EYE would be a nice watch for the channel. That video is just chills.

I would've loved to see the tyres before and after this stint

Climb dance for me and special mention for Cetait un rendezvous
