I turned an RC helicopter into an FPV helicopter using a $15 all-in-one FPV camera, hot glue, and way too much duct tape. This was only my second time flying FPV, so things definitely didn't go perfectly, but it actually worked surprisingly well.

If you've ever wanted to try FPV on an RC helicopter, hopefully this gives you a few ideas (or at least a good laugh).

Ive done this exact combo in a half dozen model cars. it'll end up in my C180 helicopter soon enough. its these cheap analog AIOs that keep me from switching to digital fpv since I have so many of them lol.

Helis can fly for at least twice as long as quadcopters but they have two issues: vibrations/wiggling that hurt the FPV experience and their flight handling is really drifty. I love proximity flying but helis slide around so much it makes flying close to obstacles a real gamble.

I imagine Schluter would be mesmerized by the technology we have have today making these tiny helicopters fly so smoothly.
Still have his first commercially available Huey Cobra, and it’s barely controllable…. No gyros and a fixed pitch main rotor.
My how the times have changed to fully articulated heads and gyros. Anyone can fly one today.

Welcome to the RC Hobby, I would use the eachine camera/backpack, I have been hot gluing a camera on everything I flow with. I was going to suggest AKK/backpack , I could get a 600mw vtx and camera. Of course now I'm flying walksnail and DJI.

You can get tiny voltage alarm so you know when to land and avoid battery damage I've been putting these on all my rc for years it's been awhile need to get back into the hobby cool video I subscribed 😎

I remember when stupid rotor riot put FPV on a high end helicopter, the amount of yaw wobble on that helicopter was very exposing and had awful flight characteristics, it wasnt very impressive. that little cheap heli is MUCH smoother! wow!
